Introducing Our New School Presidency Team: Leading with Passion and Purpose
We are excited to announce the new School Presidency Team for the 2024/2025 academic year at Northampton School for Girls. Just before the Easter break, an assembly was held to encourage Year 12 students to put themselves forward for election to the new School Council. The current team roles were explained, and details were sent out via email, inviting new applicants to take over from the outgoing cohort.
The response was overwhelmingly positive, with a total of 47 applicants vying for various roles, including the prestigious position of school president. After the Easter break, the selection process began in earnest. Five standout students were shortlisted for the presidency, each asked to create a compelling two-minute video explaining why they would be the best fit for the role. These videos were shared with the entire school for a broader selection process.
The field was then narrowed down to three exceptional candidates, who underwent interviews with our Headteacher, Mrs Taboada-Naya, and Head of Sixth Form, Mrs Green. After careful consideration and feedback from the school community, Rosie was chosen as the president for the 2024/2025 year.
Rosie and the new team have already hit the ground running, demonstrating their commitment and enthusiasm. They have conducted their first official meeting, complete with detailed notes, and have actively participated in our "Back on The Rack" initiative. Furthermore, they have shown their support for "The Hub," our new club promoting diversity and inclusion.
In her own words, Rosie shared, "We have already brainstormed for the new year, and everyone is very keen to get started and integrate their new ideas into the school. We are extremely passionate about implementing changes that will benefit the students and the wider community."
We are confident that Rosie and her team will bring fresh energy and innovative ideas to our school, fostering a positive and inclusive environment for all. Please join us in welcoming the new School Presidency Team and supporting them in their efforts to make a meaningful impact at Northampton School for Girls.
